Is your hairline moving back faster than you would like? A hair transplant in Nairobi can bring it forward again. But only if it is the right choice for you.
At Hairhub Trichology Centre on Ngong Road, Nairobi, we perform FUE hair transplants. We also tell you honestly if a transplant is not right for you yet.
We have pre written the message for you, with a link to this page. Keep it, add a line about your hair and send. It helps us see what you were reading, so you get a useful answer, not a generic one.

What is an FUE hair transplant?
FUE means Follicular Unit Extraction. Hair follicles are taken one by one from the safe donor area at the back of the head. They are then placed where the hair has thinned or gone.
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia. FUE gives natural results with a focus on good density. We perform FUE on Afro hair, Caucasian hair and hair of Asian origin.
Who performs your hair transplant in Nairobi?
Our surgeon, Dr. Dindi Keith, trained at Moi University School of Medicine and at the International Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine in Pune, India. He was the first surgeon to perform FUE hair transplants in the region.
Dr. Dindi has a particular focus on transplant surgery for African patients. He is also a painter and brings that artistic eye to every hairline.
Before any surgery, you see our trichologists. Our lead trichologist, Muli Musyoka, is the first I.A.T certified trichologist in East and Central Africa.
Not sure what it is? Show us.
Tilt your head toward a window, take a photo of the spot that worries you and send it on WhatsApp. A trichologist looks at it and tells you what to do next. No queue, no guessing.

Are you a good candidate for a hair transplant?
About 20% of people who ask for a hair transplant are not suitable candidates. No amount of money or technology gives them a natural, lasting result. So we check four things first.
- Is your hair loss stable? If it is still moving fast, your own hair may keep falling out behind the new hair. You may need PRP or medication first.
- Is there scarring hair loss? Conditions such as lichen planopilaris, frontal fibrosing alopecia and CCCA must be ruled out. A transplant into active inflammation fails.
- Is your donor area strong enough? We measure the density at the back of your head. Average density is 60 to 80 follicular units per square centimetre. Below 40 is too low.
- Are your goals realistic? Most people have 4,000 to 5,000 grafts available in a lifetime. We plan for a natural look today and keep grafts in reserve for the future.
When we say no
We will not go ahead with a transplant if any of these apply.
- You have active scarring alopecia confirmed by biopsy.
- You have diffuse unpatterned alopecia, where even the donor area is thinning.
- You are under 22 with fast, untreated hair loss.
- Your donor density is below 40 follicular units per square centimetre.
- You want a result that the available hair cannot give.
Health matters too. Uncontrolled diabetes, severe high blood pressure or a history of keloid scars all need careful review first.
A bad hair transplant is worse than baldness. A refusal protects you from years of regret.
How a hair transplant in Nairobi works at Hairhub
- Consultation. We take your full hair loss history and examine your scalp under a trichoscope.
- Assessment. If needed, we discuss a biopsy to rule out scarring hair loss.
- Planning. We measure your donor area and agree on a natural, age appropriate hairline.
- Surgery. Follicles are extracted and implanted under local anaesthesia.
- Aftercare. PRP therapy starts 3 weeks after surgery to support the new follicles. We follow up with you through your journey.
Why plan for your future hair
Your hair keeps changing as you age. A good plan places grafts where they matter most, usually the front of the scalp. It also saves about 20% of your donor supply for a possible future procedure.
This is why we do not spread grafts thinly over a large bald area. It looks patchy. A dense, natural frame for the face looks better at 30 and still at 50.
Hair transplant for women
Women can be candidates for a hair transplant in Nairobi too. The right first step is an assessment, because hair loss in women often has a medical cause such as low iron stores, hormones or a scalp condition. Read more on our page about hair loss in women.
How much does a hair transplant cost in Nairobi?
The cost depends on how many grafts you need and your donor area. We give you a clear quote after your consultation. Send us photos of your scalp on WhatsApp to start.

Frequently asked questions
Does a hair transplant hurt?
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia, so the area is numbed during surgery.
Is a hair transplant permanent?
Transplanted follicles come from the back of the head, which resists the hormone behind pattern hair loss. Your other native hair can still thin, which is why we plan for the long term.
Can you do FUE on Afro hair?
Yes. We perform FUE on Afro, Caucasian and Asian hair. Our surgeon has a particular focus on African patients.
Do I need PRP after a transplant?
For our transplant patients, PRP therapy starts 3 weeks after surgery to support the newly implanted follicles.
What if I am not a candidate?
We tell you honestly and recommend the treatment that suits your hair, such as PRP, GFC or topical therapy.

Would recommend them any day. They are such a friendly community, very warm and kind when it comes to their service delivery and do not get me started on the results! They do deliver on what they say and I am absolutely grateful for their support in growing my hair back to what it is today! They did make my dream come true, and finally I can get to embrace who I am fully when I look at myself in the mirror. Thank you so much Hair Hub!
I thank God that after 2 gruesome years of scalp psoriasis, I have finally found a solution that works like magic. This was only possible with the services I got from Hair Hub at Bemuda Plaza, after years of spending so much money on other hair products on the market, all in vain. The first consultation I had was with Celestine Gitau and 3 weeks later I can say without a doubt that I no longer have any flaking or itching of the scalp and the inflammation has since reduced drastically.
Customer service before the procedure was smooth and engaging. The experts handled everything very professionally. 10/10 would recommend.
Their Jet Peel PRP technology is on another level. My hair is gradually coming back. I am happy.
