Why assessment comes first
Many people spend months on products that do not match their problem. Hair loss has many causes. Two or more can happen together, especially in Afro textured hair.
Treating the wrong cause wastes money and time. It can also let scarring hair loss go too far to reverse.
Common causes of hair loss we treat
- Androgenetic alopecia, known as male pattern baldness and female pattern hair loss
- Traction alopecia from tight braids, weaves, ponytails or locs
- CCCA and other scarring hair loss, common in women of African descent
- Telogen effluvium, heavy shedding after stress, illness or childbirth

How long before you see results?
Hair grows slowly, about 1 cm a month. Most hair loss treatment needs a few months before you see a difference. With PRP, most people see improvement after about 2 to 3 months.

Frequently asked questions
Can hair loss be reversed?
It depends on the cause. Breakage, early traction alopecia and many cases of shedding improve once the cause is treated. Genetic hair loss can be managed and slowed. Scarring hair loss cannot be reversed once scarring sets in, which is why early assessment matters.
Should I see a trichologist or a dermatologist?
A trichologist specialises in hair and scalp only. A dermatologist is a medical doctor who treats skin, hair and nail conditions. Our trichologists assess and treat hair and scalp concerns, and when something needs a doctor or a prescription, we say so and work alongside yours.
Do you treat women?
Yes. We treat hair loss in both men and women.
